I'm Suzanne Lister and I am the 'Lister' in Ka-lister-scope. It's a play on Kaleidoscope which means 'Observation of beautiful forms'. And who & what are these beautiful forms, you ask? Well that's you guys! - your venue, your families bursting with pride, your carefully considered wedding details, your sneaky loved up glances to each other, your shapes on the dance floor and your best friends beaming from ear to ear!
I'm an observer. I love to capture your day as it happens and to document the natural moments that happen between people. My shoots are like stories that I get to tell through photographs. I am so thankful I get to do what I do and I firmly believe that getting to be part of a couple or families shoot is a complete privilege.
I am Scottish born & bred and now live in North Glasgow.
My family team consists of a very patient & supportive husband, a lego mad 5 year old and a super smiley, sassy-pants 2 year old.
I trained & worked as a fully qualified architect for 10 years. I feel this background brings a unique view point to how I see spaces and capture movement through places.
We had two weddings cakes on our wedding day because nobody should be forced to choose between cake or cheese!
My guilty pleasure is watching second rate Christmas films - in November.
I love; Autumn colours, sunshine, taylor swift & counting crows in equal measure, beautiful ceramics, dried flowers, being on time, flat whites with a (peanut butter) brownie.
who i am affects my approach to photographing your wedding
I am much happier behind the lens.
If you don't like your photograph being taken please don't worry - I get it. I will take things slow, talk you through how I work and have some fun tricks up my sleeve (not to mention I love a good cheese-based joke) to hopefully put you at ease.
Included in my full day package is a complimentary pre-shoot where we can chat about your wedding plans and take some super relaxed photographs. I find these wee shoots really help with getting-my-photograph-taken-nerves and give you confidence for getting your photograph taken on your wedding day.
As an architect I have an eye for composition & framing.
My Architectural background lets me work better with the built & natural environment - using key elements such as composition & framing to create better photographs.

I have a relaxed, non-invasive style. I like to hang back and observe & document your day as it plays out. I love capturing moments such as; when your best friend hugs you or your mum's gets teary seeing you say I do. Both of which take place naturally and require a watchful eye to capture on camera!
However, I understand there are times where I need to orchestrate things in order for you to get the most from your photographs - where confetti gauntlets need organised, family portraits need put together or a gentle steer during your couple photographs. I do these in a respectful way. I make sure your day is all about YOU and this is at the forefront of how I work.
doing this job is such a privilege - I get to photograph utter happiness, all the emotions & some craziness!
