Fun filled Spring Wedding in Cardney Steading

This day was such a beautiful fun filled spring wedding at Cardney Steading. Katie & Euan first got in touch with me over two years before their wedding date. They booked everything up for their day and then went and had the adventure of their lives in New Zealand. Two years later and only a few months before their wedding they came home. They had a massive celebration where they got to see relatives & friends that they hadn’t seen in a very long time. There was a lot of partying, laughter and happy tears and I was absolutely delighted to capture it!

Wedding Morning at Cardney Steading

They both got ready at Cardney Steading. I love when this happens because then I get to capture both sides of the morning! Euan got dressed in his kilt from McCalls Highlandwear and after we grabbed some photographs with his groomsmen in the garden. Katie chose her dress, from Eleganza Sposa, two years before the day and she was delighted to still love it when she got home from NZ! The bridesmaids wore dark green dresses from JJs House Official. The could be tied at the top in different ways.  Bang Bang Beauty & Ryde Hair Dressing were brilliant and had eveyone ready to go in plenty of time to get photographs!

Wedding Ceremony & Confetti Gauntlet

The ceremony space at Cardney Steading is a cosy atmospheric barn and although it can seat 100+ guests it has an intimate feel to it. Blair Florist filled the barn with delicate pink & white flowers which matched the bridal parties bouquets. The celebrant Jane Bechtel gave a warm and personal ceremony. It was filled with wonderful stories of how Katie & Euan got together … some of which got a big laugh! I absolutely loved the dip that Katie & Euan did when they were walking back up the aisle!

Fun Group Photographs & Beautiful Couple Portraits

Katie & Euan were able to be beside the loch for their drinks reception. It is a beautiful spot beside the water and with the hill behind it was a perfect backdrop for group portraits! We also crossed the iconic Cardney Steading bridge for some photographs. Katie & Euan were so relaxed in front of the camera and I loved photographing them together! It was the first time I had worked with We Are One Wedding Films  and I would 100% recommend. Austin was so professional, respectful & friendly and he had some great prompts for the couple shoot too!

Wedding Speeches & Fizz Spray Photographs

Katie looked on nervously as her dad presented a slideshow during speeches. By the end there wasn’t a dry eye in the room (because of laughing or crying I’m not sure!). After dinner I invited Katie & Euan outside for a breath of fresh air and some couple photographs. I loved that they wanted to do a fizz spray! And just generally chill out the two of them to take it all in before the party started! Speaking of partying … Ceilidhdonia know just what to play for a full dance floor!!
